Akasya Kape, a Melbourne-based coffee brand founded by sisters Felis and Inday Sarcepuedes, celebrates the rich island culture and Filipino pride through its Philippine-origin coffee. With collaborations from Kalsada Coffee in the Philippines and Core Roasters in Melbourne, Akasya Kape has established itself as a dynamic player in Melbourne’s coffee scene, delivering flavours that reflect the vibrant communities they serve.

The following projects reflect my work shaping Akasya Kape’s brand identity and presence. From developing their visual identity and coffee packaging to creating event branding for the Australian premiere of Ma’am Tere, these efforts celebrate Filipino heritage and Akasya’s connection to Melbourne’s vibrant coffee culture.

In 2024, I created the event branding for Akasya Kape’s highly successful screening of Ma’am Tere at Thornbury Picture House. This included designing social media posts, stories, digital banners for Humatix, and poster templates for coffee brand collaborators across Melbourne/Naarm, Sydney/Gadigal, and Brisbane/Meanjin.

The event was hugely successful, featuring an engaging Q&A with LA-based director Paul Baretto and the inspiring Tere Domine herself.

Currently working on a fresh website for Akasya Kape, which will enhance their online presence and connect more deeply with their growing community.

Akasya Kape continues to host exciting events and pop-ups. Stay connected through their Instagram: @akasyakape.
